The Logie Lads & Lasses Are Back – And Seven’s Bringing the Heat

Get your sequins pressed and your acceptance speech half-written: the 2024 TV WEEK Logie Award nominations have dropped, and Channel Seven’s stars are absolutely lighting up the field like a cricket stadium in prime time.

Headlining the list? The unstoppable Sonia Kruger – whose combined appearances across “Dancing With The Stars,” “The Voice,” and the Logies Red Carpet Show practically demand a Gold Logie be named after her. Right beside her is Aussie soap royalty Lynne McGranger, still holding down the fort on “Home and Away” and now gunning for the Gold Logie herself.

Meanwhile, Michael Usher nabbed a nom for the Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter. He took a moment on “Sunrise” to laugh about it and call Ray Martin a “living legend.” Can’t argue with that.

🎤 Seven’s Standouts: And the Nominees Are…

  • Sonia Kruger: Running her own Logies dynasty at this point. Nominated for Gold Logie and Most Popular Presenter.
  • Lynne McGranger: The longest-running female soap star on Aussie telly, up for Gold Logie and Best Lead Actress. Home and Away just wouldn’t be the same without her yelling, “Alf!”
  • Michael Usher: Nominated in the inaugural Ray Martin Award category. Now that’s what we call a “Ushering” into greatness.
  • 7NEWS & Sunrise: Nominated for serious coverage including Cyclone Alfred, Trump assassination attempt, and the Melbourne protests. No lightweight clickbait here.

Awards Night Details:

  • When: Sunday, August 3, 2024
  • Where: The Star, Sydney
  • Broadcast on: Seven and 7plus
  • Host: Comedian and national treasure Sam Pang, back again to roast the front row.

Vote Like You Mean It!

Amber Giles, TV WEEK’s editorial boss, said it best:

“If you see a show or star on the list that you’ve watched and enjoyed, then don’t be shy – get voting!”

Voting is now open at TV Week’s website

A Little Aussie Analysis

Let’s be honest, if Sonia doesn’t walk away with the Gold Logie this year, we may need a royal commission. And if Lynne McGranger nabs it? We riot (peacefully, with fairy bread). Either way, Seven’s making sure the red carpet rolls right to their door – and we’re here for it.
