Aussie Bloke Fakes Cancer After Burning Family’s House Sale Profits on Who-Knows-What

A 30-year-old man allegedly lied about having cancer and impersonated lawyers to cover up spending the profits from a home sale, scamming his own family out of $1.2 million.

When the Yarn’s Bigger Than the Mortgage

Well folks, grab a cuppa and brace yourselves, because this one’s straight out of a soapie—with a twist of crime.

A 30-year-old bloke from WA allegedly got himself in deep after blowing the profits from the family home sale in Alfredton, Ballarat. But instead of fessing up, he went full “Home and Away villain” and allegedly spun a yarn about having terminal cancer—all to distract his family while he scammed them out of over $1.2 million more.

Victoria Police allege he didn’t just stretch the truth—he impersonated two lawyers, created fake email accounts, and even forged documents to make it all look legit.
